A boutique design thinking consultancy, offering innovation education for large organizations seeking new ways of thinking and behaving.
Growth. Stewarded company through 3X growth in revenue & 3x growth in team size in two years. Tripled length of average client engagement. Increased margins while adding 7 full- time employees, and opening a 6,800 square foot design studio.
Client relationships. Logistical and financial contact for 34 short- and long-term client relationships. Developed customized proposals, responded to RFPs, and reviewed SOWs.
Process efficiencies. Overhauled accounting processes. Installed efficient protocols for invoicing, billing, A/R and A/P. Automated tasks (HR on-boarding, bill payments, payroll) and implemented tools (Gusto, Expensify, bill.com, Xero) to increase everyday efficiency.
Internal alignment. Facilitated team meetings. Managed communication tools (Redbooth, G Suite by Google, Slack, etc.) Internal resource for conflict resolution & team alignment.
Financial reporting. Provided owners with customized operational reports and data, to keep them informed of the company’s financial well-being, and to guide strategic decision-making.

Provided resources — from workshop curricula to coworking space to study-at-home Starter Kits — for aspiring entrepreneurs.
Company leadership. Built a strong and recognizable local brand associated with community education, small business mentorship, and entrepreneurial support. Opened Nashville’s premiere coworking space for creative entrepreneurs.
Educational programming. Coordinated logistics and instructors for 600+ classes and workshops serving Nashville’s booming small business community.
Curriculum development. Designed and facilitated a workshop for aspiring entrepreneurs, along with guidebook and materials to support workshop licensing. Designed, manufactured and sold an accompanying do-it-yourself Starter Kit for remote learners.
Entrepreneurial mentorship. Served as an instructor, mentor and tutor to dozens of aspiring (and now-established) entrepreneurs across the city. Taught entrepreneurship workshops. Connected aspiring entrepreneurs with established business owners.
ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR / PRODUCTION MANAGER, NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY'S NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL INSTITUTE
June 2004 - July 2011
A premier university- based summer program for outstanding high school students.
Production coordination. Oversaw simultaneous execution of 10 theatre productions in five weeks. Oversaw safety concerns, budget, faculty morale, student well-being and logistical constraint of performing all productions in one facility. Executed an extremely compressed production timeline, and successfully executed 80 productions in eight years.
Staff management. Hired and oversaw a staff of 20 educators, designers and technicians from around the country. Nurtured remote collaboration using online tools. Facilitated daily and weekly staff meetings, both in-person and virtually. Fostered healthy and timely communication before and during the production process.
Curriculum design and facilitation. Designed and facilitated a stage management course. Mentored two teaching assistants, and coordinated guest lecturers. Stewarded students through a successful capstone project associated with the execution of a fully produced theatre production in Northwestern University’s graduate and undergraduate facility.
Live in Nashville, born and raised in Connecticut. Seen and heard in radio and TV commercials for McDonald’s, Wal-Mart, Motorola, Walgreens & more. Worked for NBC on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, the 2002 Olympic Winter Games telecast, and Saturday Night Live. Been to the World Cup, World Series, NBA Finals, Olympics, and US Open, but never a Super Bowl. Once drove trolleys and gave tours of Chicago while working for The Jerry Springer Show. Can wiggle my ears. Actually, just one ear. Dad to Elliott (6) and Gwendolyn (3).
