I recently had the pleasure of photographing Avery and Fletcher, about a year and a half after meeting them for the first time. What terrific kids! We had some laughs, some tears and some snacks (in that order)… and, as always, my favorite photos were not planned nor posed, but, instead, snapped amidst the unpredictable excitement of whatever the day happened to give us. These two children at play, in that space, on that day. Perfectly unique. I’m so glad I was there.
It’s no secret that fall is my favorite season. The smells, the food, the weather… the absurd decorations on my front porch. What’s not to love?
Autumn provides a perfect backdrop to what are typically some of my favorite photographs of the year; children playing in leaves, sure, but also the detailed texture and vibrant color in every direction. I look forward to a busy month of photographing the look and feel of Nashville in the fall.

Here it is! The first post on a totally new blog, on a totally new website!
It’s taken several months to pull off what appears like a very simple shift… weeks of conversations, meetings, designing, re-designing… and in the end, this. A new website, a new logo, and a few focus for the future.
Along the way, I kept trimming the fat. I was always more compelled to take the simpler of two design options. To pare down the choices, to remove the clutter, and keep things clean. And that reflects the kind of business I want to run – one that’s laser focused on the people I photograph, and their needs. Simple.
Lots more to come in the next few days and weeks… but for now, a quick shot from a recent session with Teddy. I’m backlogged on images from this summer — can’t wait to share.
