I fell in love with photography at the age of 11, on a family vacation to Yellowstone National Park. Colossal fires had recently devastated the park, and I wanted so badly to capture the powerful imagery of the barren landscape, and even the potent smell of smoldering timber. That desire to grab my camera and capture the moment – to preserve the emotion of a particular situation – resulted in my first photojournalistic image; a surprisingly striking photograph (I credit myself with a healthy dose of beginner’s luck) that hangs in my parents’ house to this day.
Two decades later, I’m still fascinated by preserving my surroundings, and capturing my subjects as they are. In real life. I see beautiful, striking imagery all around me: in the gnarled trunk of an aging tree, in the clasped hands of a loving couple, in the spirited smile of a child at play. And my instinct is always the same – to grab my camera, and capture the moment.
I welcome the opportunity to capture a moment of your life, and the lives of those you love. My positive, laid-back style will foster a relaxing and enjoyable session in which you can be yourself, and I’ll do everything I can to ensure that you’ll be satisfied as my client from our first interaction until the day when you lay eyes on your photographs.
